Activity One – Choose Teams

Back to Software Development Roles Intro

You are to choose team members for your group. Each group should consist of 3 - 4 individuals. Be sure to choose team members with skill sets that compliment your own. Choosing friends or people you know may seem like the easiest thing to do, but it could be detrimental to your group's performance. Make sure your group has members with skills in the following areas.

Furthermore, team projects should be organized by assigning each student to a specific section so that grades may be individually assigned. Students who do not participate with their teams may be removed by a majority vote of the team until 30 days prior to the due date of the projects. Students removed from teams will be required to do an alternative assignment assigned by the instructor.

Instructions

  1. Identify 2 - 3 students that you would want to work with. You may want to look at more students in case they are already committed to another group.
  2. Once your group is formed, pick one member to be the contact for that group.

Deliverable

  1. The group contact should e-mail the instructor a short message. Use the e-mail application within this course to submit your assignment. Assignments submitted by external e-mail applications may not receive a grade. List student names along with the strengths that each student will bring to the group. This e-mail message serves as a grade for the entire group and all members within the group.
  2. Your instructor will let you know your group number. This number will indicate that your group has been approved.
  3. The instructor reserves the right to rearrange groups in the event that groups are not balanced.
