To tailor the Rational Unified Process for a
specific problem frame additional, configuration specific guidelines are
required to describe exactly how the artifacts are to be structured, used
and presented when following the specific process configuration.
The configuration specific guidelines are organized into sets
corresponding to the disciplines. Several guideline artifacts are
used in a number of disciplines (e.g. the Design Guidelines). These
guidelines are presented under the discipline where they are primarily
applied.
The configuration specific guidelines complement the generic artifact
guidelines provided by the Unified Process. These generic artifact
guidelines containing practical information about the how to use
specific artifacts and are found in the Rational Unified Process browser
along with their associated artifacts. For an overview of these
guidelines see the RUP
Artifact Guidelines: Overview.
