To tailor the Rational Unified Process for a
specific organizational context additional, configuration specific templates
are required to reflect exactly how the artifacts, and reports, are to be
structured, used and presented.
For some artifacts, and reports, multiple templates may be required to
reflect different styles, development tools and view points within the
organization.
The configuration specific templates are organized into sets
corresponding to the disciplines. Several artifacts are used in a
number of disciplines (e.g. the Design Guidelines). The templates are
presented under the discipline where they are initially instantiated.
To make the templates accessible and easy to use examples are often
required. These are documented alongside the templates that they
follow.
The configuration specific templates complement, and specialize, the
generic templates provided by the Unified Process. These generic artifact
templates are found in the Rational Unified Process browser along
with their associated artifacts. For details of these templates see RUP:
Templates.
