RoadmapsIntroductionRoadmaps provide a way of describing how to use the general-purpose process described in the Rational Unified Process (RUP) to solve specific types of problems. They are a way of describing process variants, using Phases as a starting point, then describing how the process is adapted to the specific kind of problems. Roadmaps provide a mechanism for extending and adapting the process. Process adaptation in general is covered in detail in the Environment discipline and in the Process Engineer Toolkit section. The configured process is documented in Artifact: Development Case. Which artifacts are developed, and the extent to which they are developed, will vary from project to project depending on team size and risk. It is very unlikely that any project will use all artifacts to their fullest extent. Roadmaps
