Objectives:
This course is designed as an introduction to inorganic chemistry: Concepts and systems of inorganic chemistry, atomic structure, molecular structure and chemical bonding, and reactivity of molecules.

Prerequisite Courses: Chem 3230, or Chem 4231, or equivalent

Principles of Structure and Reactivity
By James E. Huheey, Ellen A. Keiter, Richard, L. Keiter

Assignments: Problem sets will be assigned after each chapter or topic. Some problems will be discussed at the beginning of each lecture. Students are encouraged to present answers on the blackboard.

Course policies: Regular attendance is expected. I will be elaborating on certain subjects, providing additional materials, or emphasizing certain areas. Attendance is important in order to follow the lectures. There would be no make-up exams.

Grading:
Midterm: 30% x 2; Final exam: 40%.
