With the ever increasing aging population and others in need of close monitoring, there is a profound demand for an efficient and economical counter-emergency system. The demand for this type of system also extends to a variety of emergency situations, including personal, medical, and criminal. This project proposes to develop a system that meets these needs with a device unlike any other currently available on the market.
The long-term goal for this project is to establish a strong collaborative research program that develops and implements innovative and cost effective smart and connected co-robotics applications that provide critical supports for their symbiotic human partners’ health and safety in order to significantly improve the quality of human life. The primary objective of this project is to design and implement an advanced personal health safety tele-robotics guard system that offers many critical features which are missing from contemporary home security and personal emergency response systems at a significantly lower cost. A second objective is to establish a strong collaborative robotics education and training program in Gulf-coast area for college, undergraduate, graduate and underrepresented minority students.
