Messages From the Pathophysiology Course Instructor
Welcome!! This page is intended to
provide the students in Pathophysiology (Biol. 4436)
with messages from the course instructor. These messages will be updated on a
regular basis.
1/31/11
I looked into the problem
with the course webpage and realized that the main page for pathophysiology
was deleted. I think I may have inadvertently deleted it when I was cleaning up
the files on the server. It is corrected now and all should be working. Please
let me know if you have any problems with the webpage.
Also, I have created an email
address distribution list. This email will test whether I have entered the
addresses correctly.
2/1/11
Some people have been asking
me about the UHCL Health Professions Association. The Association will have its
first meeting of the spring semester tomorrow Wednesday, 2/2/2011, in Bayou
1435 at 5:30. The meeting will probably last for about 45 min. If you are
interested please feel free to come to the meeting and find out more about the
activities that the Association is planning and how you can join in!
Hope to see you there!
2/3/11
As notified below, our pathophysiology class today has been canceled due to the
weather. We will not have an exam next week, but instead will push the exam
back to the 17th, and cover the material that was supposed to be
covered today next week. I have posted the lecture summary on the course
webpage for lecture 3.
3/2/11
I an effort to try to move us
back towards being on the original course schedule, I have posted some
additional lecture notes on the course webpage. Please click on the topic
“Additional Lecture Notes” in the list of topics, and review these notes for
tomorrow. If you have questions about the material in these notes please bring
them to lecture tomorrow.
I also wanted to let you know
that I will be lecturing for the first half of the class tomorrow and after the
break Dr. Leo Giblin, M.D. will be finishing up the lecture tomorrow. We will
be having the 2nd exam for the course next week as I promised and
that lecture will be over the material that we have covered since the first
exam through the end of tomorrow’s lecture (including the additional notes that
I have posted today and the material Dr. Giblin covers). Note: we will not
be covering the hematologic system for the 2nd exam,
hematologic system will be moved to the 3rd exam.
Finally, with regard to the
exam next week, you will have the first hour and a half to take the exam, then
we will take a 10-15 minute break, and after the break I will be lecturing on
the hematologic system to continue to try to get us back on schedule.
3/7/11
The lecture transparencies from
3/3/11 have been posted in two parts. Part 1 are the
transparencies from the first part of the lecture that I gave, and part 2 are
the transparencies from the part of the lecture that Dr. Giblin gave. I’ll be
posting an example exam tomorrow late afternoon.
