Dr. Kwok Bun Yue
Professor of Computer Science at UHCL, ChairPerson of the Data Science Program
He has published more than 50 papers, and is the principal investigator of 12 external grants with a total amount of $2.7 million. He is an associate editor of the Journal of Information Systems Education. Dr. Yue served in administrative role of the chair of the Division of Computer and Mathematics, the Computer Science program, and the Computer Information Systems program for 16 years. He has consulted a number of companies, including serving briefly as a CTO of a startup company.
Awards : UHCL Distinguished Teaching Award (1993), the UHCL Piper Award (1994), the UHCL Alumni Association Outstanding Professor Award (2011), the UHCL Fellowship (2002), UHCL Distinguished Professorship in Computer Science and Engineering (2021).
Research interests : Databases, Concurrent Programming, Blockchain, Information systems, computer science education.
Dr. Kewei Sha
Associate Professor of Computer Science and the Associate Director of the Cyber Security Institute at the University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL)
Dr. Sha has published more than 70 publications and is the PI or co-PI receiving more than 3 million dollars of research support from NSF, NASA, UHCL, and OCU. Dr. Sha has served as Department Chair and Associate Professor for Department of Software Engineering at Oklahoma City University (OCU), associate editors for IEEE IoT Journal, Smart Health, and Computing, key organizing committee members for many conferences, and reviewers for numerous IEEE and ACM Transactions. He is a senior member of both ACM and IEEE.
Awards : UHCL President’s Outstanding Research Award, IEEE Outstanding Leadership Award, and Anthony and Barbara Lekkos Endowment Faculty Fellowship.
Research interests : Network Security and Privacy, Internet of Things, Edge Computing, Blockchain, and Data Management and Analytics.
Dr. Yalong Wu
Associate Professor of Data Science with the Department of Computing Sciences at University of Houston-Clear Lake (UHCL)
Dr. Yalong Wu received his D.Sc. (Doctor of Science) degree from Towson University in 2020. He has published a number of papers on reputable journals and conference proceedings, such as IEEE TNSE, ACM TOIT, IEEE ICDCS, IEEE ICC, etc. He is also a reviewer for a variety of journals and conference proceedings.

Dr. Wei Wei
Associate Professor and program chair of Computer Information Systems at UHCL
Dr. Wei Wei served as Co-PI or senior personnel for several grants including an NSF CyberCorps grant focusing on building future cyber-workforce and as editorial board for several IS journals. Dr. Wei has extensive publications in data analytics, information systems education, and cybersecurity. She has been working in several joint efforts on promoting cybersecurity education at various levels. She also actively participated in organizing and paper reviewing activities for all major IS conferences.
Research interests : Social media analytics, System modeling, and education in computing especially cybersecurity education
Dr. Liu Xinying
Assistant Professor in the Computer Information Systems program
Dr.Liu got her Ph.D. from Georgia State University. Before that, she worked as an Assistant Project Manager after she had her Master of Science in Management Information Systems at the University of Maryland, College Park.
Research interests : Health IT and health informatics, focus on designing interventions as well as utilizing various methodologies, such as analytic models, business process analysis, and simulation, to support decision-making and improve healthcare outcomes, Blockchain
Preethi Vuchuru
Computer Science Graduate Student and Research Assitant
Preethi is currently working on developing a simulator to simulate the Blockchain operations that can reduce the complexity for a beginner who wants to explore the Hyperledger Fabric's Blockchain Network. She has also worked on Referential Integrity design implementation in the Blockchain, Model Transformation from Conceptual to Logical model. She has an industry experience of 2+ years working as a Systems Engineer.

Madhuri Koduru

Madhuri has an industry experience of 3years working as an Automation Engineer in a product based company and has an exposure to banking software and working with clients directly.

Neesarg Mistry
Computer Science Student and Research Assitant
Neesarg is working to develop Design Constraints and Extensions that will enhance data modeling of NoSQL databases to assure Referential Integrity across collections (with eventual integration with Blockchain technology). He is widely interested in Database Management Systems—down from Systems Level all the way to the Applications Level. Lastly, he has experience in Big Data information extraction and analysis obtained as an AI/Data Science intern at JPMorgan Chase and Co.
